Trump: Jack Smith shouldn’t be allowed to release report

President-elect Trump criticized former special counsel Jack Smith for attempting to issue a report on what he called a “witch hunt” against him.

In a Truth Social post, Trump claimed Smith was “illegitimately involved” in political persecution and accused the government of wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on the investigation.

The Department of Justice is pushing to release Smith’s final report on the Mar-a-Lago documents case and Trump’s attempts to block the 2020 election results, The Hill has reported.

However, Trump’s co-defendants are challenging the release, resulting in delays, with U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon blocking the report’s release for an additional three days.
