Authorities in Los Angeles County have charged a man with arson and several individuals with looting homes in wildfire evacuation zones.
The arson suspect, Jose Carranza-Escobar, allegedly started a fire in Azusa and faces nine years in prison.
Looting charges were filed against groups targeting homes in Pacific Palisades and Altadena, stealing over $200,000 in goods, including an Emmy Award.
Arrests were made in Koreatown and other areas, with suspects linked to burglaries and curfew violations, Fox News has reported.
Officials, including DA Nathan Hochman, condemned the exploitation of fire victims and warned against further criminal activity in evacuation zones.
