At least 30 people were injured, including nine seriously, in a chairlift accident at Spain’s Astún ski resort in the Pyrenees.

Around 80 people remained trapped on the lift as helicopters conducted rescue operations and transported the injured to hospitals.

The cause of the accident is unknown.

Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expressed shock and support for the victims and their families, CBS News has reported.
