Francisco San Martin, an actor best known for his role as Dario Hernandez on the daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives, has died at the age of 39.

He was found in his Los Angeles home, and the County of Los Angeles Medical Examiner listed his cause of death as a “ligature hanging.” Further details were not provided.

San Martin had a notable career in television and film, including roles as Mateo on The Bold and the Beautiful and as a charming telenovela star who captivated Jane on the CW’s Jane the Virgin.

He also appeared in the 2013 HBO film Behind the Candelabra, directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon, NBC News has reported.

His work earned him recognition across both daytime dramas and mainstream productions.
