Seven police officers were injured in a San Antonio standoff after responding to a “suicide in progress” call at an apartment complex.

The suspect, 46-year-old Brandon Scott Poulos, exited the apartment and shot one officer, then barricaded himself inside, wounding six more during the hourslong standoff.

Residents were evacuated as police and SWAT negotiated with the suspect.

Poulos was later found dead, though it’s unclear if he died by suicide or police gunfire, NBC News has reported.

All injured officers are expected to fully recover. Poulos had been arrested days earlier on assault and DUI charges.
