3 dead, 2 police officers injured in grocery store shooting in Indiana

Two people were fatally shot at Martin’s Super Market in Elkhart, Indiana, around 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police exchanged gunfire with the suspect outside the store, killing the individual.

Two officers were injured but are in stable condition.

Authorities confirmed there is no ongoing threat, and the Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating.

The victims, suspect, and officers’ identities are being withheld pending family notifications, ABC News has reported.

Community leaders, including Police Chief Dan Milanese and Governor Mike Braun, expressed condolences and urged support for those affected.
