Justice Department fires more than a dozen key officials on former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team

The Justice Department, under Acting Attorney General James McHenry, has fired over a dozen officials from Special Counsel Jack Smith’s team, citing a lack of trust in their ability to support President Trump’s agenda.

The move aligns with Trump’s promise to end “government weaponization.”

Smith, appointed in 2022, had led investigations into Trump’s handling of classified documents and alleged interference in the 2020 election.

Both cases against Trump were dismissed, including one due to Smith’s unlawful appointment, Fox News has reported.

The names of the dismissed officials have not been disclosed.
