Six people were arrested in connection with a deadly explosion of illegal fireworks in Honolulu on New Year’s Eve.
The explosion killed three women, a man, and a 3-year-old boy, injuring about 20 others. Police confiscated 500 pounds of unused fireworks from the scene.
The suspects face charges of reckless endangering, child welfare violations, and fireworks offenses.
Investigators are looking into the source of the fireworks with potential manslaughter charges under consideration, ABC News has reported.
The incident has sparked calls for stronger fireworks enforcement laws in Hawaii.
