A suspected tornado struck Morgan County, Tennessee, on Thursday night, killing a mother and daughter and injuring three others.
The storm caused severe damage in Deer Lodge and Sunbright, with over 100 emergency responders deployed for search and rescue.
The National Weather Service is investigating whether a tornado was the cause.
Power outages affected 8% of the county, and officials warn that nighttime tornadoes are especially deadly, CNN has reported.
If confirmed, this would be the first fatal tornado event of 2025.
