Sen. Dick Durbin has accused Kash Patel, President Trump’s pick for FBI Director, of secretly orchestrating the firing of FBI officials, despite Patel’s testimony under oath that he was unaware of such plans.
Durbin’s allegations, based on whistleblower information, claim Patel directed White House official Stephen Miller to push for FBI firings.
Patel denied the accusations, calling them a “false narrative,” NBC News has reported.
Durbin’s letter follows reports that acting FBI Director Brian Driscoll was ordered to fire eight senior FBI executives and provide names of those involved in January 6 investigations.
