Blue Origin is laying off about 1,000 employees, or roughly 10% of its workforce, according to an internal email from CEO Dave Limp.
The cuts will affect roles in engineering, research and development, project management, and management layers.
The company cited the need for better alignment with its priorities following rapid growth.
Founded by Jeff Bezos in 2000, Blue Origin is developing several space ventures, including the reusable New Shepard rocket and the New Glenn rocket, Space.com has reported.
It is also working on the Blue Moon spacecraft for NASA’s Artemis program.
