Trump defends Vance’s stance on censorship overseas: ‘Europe has to be careful’

President Trump defended Vice President JD Vance’s recent speech criticizing European leaders on issues of immigration and free speech.

Trump agreed with Vance’s assessment that Europe is losing its freedom of speech and facing a significant immigration problem, which he linked to rising crime.

Vance, in his speech, argued that Europe’s biggest threat is not Russia or China, but mass immigration and speech restrictions.

His remarks received backlash, particularly from German officials, who rejected his critique of European democracy, The Hill has reported.

German leaders, including Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and Rep. Gerry Connolly, criticized Vance’s rhetoric, pointing out contradictions in the Trump administration’s own approach to political tolerance and federal workforce cuts.
