Delta jet flips upside down on a snowy Toronto runway

A Delta Air Lines jet flipped upside down while landing at Toronto’s Pearson Airport amid strong winds and blowing snow, but all 80 people on board survived with only minor injuries.

The flight from Minneapolis landed at 2:15 p.m., and while communications on approach were normal, the cause of the crash remains unclear.

Video showed the Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR overturned with its fuselage intact as emergency crews responded swiftly.

Eighteen passengers were hospitalized, including a child, the Associated Press has reported.

The incident is the fourth major North American aviation accident in three weeks.
