Leader of cultlike group linked to multiple killings is arrested in Maryland

Jack LaSota, 34, alleged leader of a cultlike group linked to multiple killings, including the recent shooting of a Border Patrol agent in Vermont, was arrested in Maryland for trespassing, firearms violations, and obstruction.

LaSota, who previously faked her death in 2022, has alleged ties to violent attacks, including a stabbing and a double homicide.

Authorities continue investigating her group’s role in recent crimes, NBC News has reported.

Her associate, Michelle Zajko, is also under scrutiny for possible involvement in the Border Patrol agent’s killing.
