3,500-Year-Old Tomb of King Thutmose II Discovered

Egyptian officials have announced the discovery of the long-lost tomb of King Thutmose II, the final royal tomb from ancient Egypt’s Eighteenth Dynasty.

The tomb, found by British and Egyptian teams near Luxor, was initially uncovered in 2022, with further excavations confirming it belonged to Thutmose II.

Artifacts, including alabaster vases inscribed with his name, support this identification.

The tomb, though damaged by floods, features simple architecture with a corridor and burial chamber.

While Thutmose II’s mummy was found earlier, this discovery provides new insights into his reign and the history of the era, Arkeo News has reported.

Researchers plan to continue investigating the site for further revelations.
