Pope Francis, 88, remains hospitalized with pneumonia and chronic bronchitis but is in stable condition, doctors said Friday.
He is receiving oxygen as needed and responding well to treatment for a bacterial and viral lung infection.
There are no signs of sepsis, a major concern.
The Vatican reported slight improvement in his condition, with his heart functioning well, Fox News has reported.
He is expected to stay in Rome’s Gemelli hospital through next week.
