Trump Fires Top Pentagon Officers in Sweeping Overhaul

Donald Trump abruptly fired Gen. CQ Brown Jr. as chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, removing the second Black general to hold the position.

The move follows Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s push to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the military.

Brown, praised for breaking racial barriers and his expertise on China, is being replaced by retired Lt. Gen. Dan Caine, who lacks required experience but has Trump’s support, The Guardian has reported.

The shake-up signals broader Pentagon leadership changes under Trump’s “America First” policy.
