A boat capsized off Staten Island on Sunday, leaving three people dead, two injured, and one missing, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

The incident occurred in the Ambrose Channel, about five miles southeast of Breezy Point.

Rescue efforts were ongoing at the time of this reporting, with multiple agencies involved, ABC News has reported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
