Three survive small plane crash into Vermont mountain

Three people survived after their small plane crashed into Mount Equinox, Vermont’s highest Taconic peak, early Wednesday.

Rescuers faced deep snow and rugged terrain to locate them hours later.

All sustained non-life-threatening injuries, with one airlifted for further care.

The FAA is investigating the cause, the Independent has reported.

The crash is the latest in a string of recent aviation incidents, though air travel remains statistically very safe.
