Chicago teen charged as serial murderer

Antonio Reyes, 21, has been charged with six counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder for a series of seemingly random attacks in Chicago’s Southwest Side in 2020.

Prosecutors say Reyes, then 17, targeted victims with no apparent motive, including children as young as three.

He has been in custody since 2021 on a separate murder charge and allegedly tried to kill his cellmate.

Investigators linked him to the crimes through a recovered .40-caliber handgun and his social media activity, USA Today has reported.

Police praised the years-long effort to solve the case, calling Reyes’ disregard for human life “difficult to comprehend.”
