An Idaho judge has criticized the excessive use of sealed documents in the murder case of Bryan Kohberger, accused of killing four University of Idaho students in 2022.
Judge Steven Hippler ordered attorneys to limit secrecy, emphasizing the public’s right to court transparency.
Kohberger, facing the death penalty, has pleaded not guilty.
Recent sealed motions include efforts to remove the death penalty due to autism and restrictions on terms like “psychopath” in court.
Some documents will be redacted and released, the Associated Press has reported.
The trial is set for August 11 and expected to last over three months.
