American Airlines plane engine catches fire after landing in Denver

An American Airlines Boeing 737-800 caught fire after landing at Denver International Airport on Thursday evening.

Flight 1006, originally bound for Dallas-Fort Worth, was diverted to Denver due to engine vibrations.

The fire broke out while taxiing to the gate, prompting an emergency evacuation.

Twelve people sustained minor injuries.

Video showed smoke billowing from the aircraft as crews worked to extinguish the flames, NBC News has reported.

American Airlines cited an “engine-related issue,” and the FAA is investigating.
