Kroger is testing a new robotic system in 35 stores across Greater Cincinnati to improve inventory tracking in real-time.
The robots, equipped with blue lights, scan shelves to identify missing items and ensure accurate pricing, allowing associates to quickly address stock issues.
The pilot program, named after Kroger founder Bernard “Barney” Kroger, began in 2024 and aims to enhance the shopping experience.
Customers are reassured that the robots don’t record personal information, USA Today has reported.
The system is also being tested in Kroger’s central division in Indiana and Illinois.
