SpaceX launches 74 satellites to orbit, lands Falcon 9 rocket

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched 74 satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base on March 15 during the Transporter 13 mission.

The rocket’s first stage successfully returned to Earth, landing vertically at Vandenberg just 7.5 minutes after launch, marking its 13th landing and the 400th for Falcon 9 boosters.

Meanwhile, the rocket’s upper stage deployed the 74 payloads, including cubesats, microsats, and a reentry capsule from Varda Space Industries.

The mission also featured an orbital transfer vehicle carrying additional payloads for future deployment, Space.com has reported.

Transporter 13 is SpaceX’s 13th rideshare mission, contributing to over 1,200 payloads launched across various programs.
