Minnesota State Sen. Justin Eichorn, 40, was arrested on March 17 in Bloomington for allegedly soliciting a minor for prostitution.
Police say he believed he was communicating with a 16-year-old girl and was arrested upon arrival at a meeting spot.
While not yet formally charged, felony charges are pending.
Eichorn, a Republican, faces bipartisan calls for his resignation, with GOP leadership stating his alleged conduct demands immediate resignation, Fox9 has reported.
His arrest further shifts power in the closely divided Minnesota Senate, favoring Democrats.
