President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a 90-minute call to discuss ending the war in Ukraine.
The leaders agreed to begin peace negotiations, focusing on a ceasefire against energy infrastructure and technical talks on a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea.
Trump described the call as “very good and productive,” emphasizing the need for peace and highlighting the human toll of the war.
Both leaders stressed the importance of improving U.S.-Russia relations and preventing future conflicts in the Middle East.
Putin also demanded a halt to U.S. military aid to Ukraine for peace talks to proceed, Fox News has reported.
The negotiations are set to begin immediately in the Middle East.
