Alleged leader of MS-13 street gang on the East Coast is arrested in Virginia

A top MS-13 gang leader on the East Coast was arrested in Virginia, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Thursday.

The 24-year-old Salvadoran national, living illegally in the U.S., was described as one of the gang’s top three leaders nationwide.

The Justice Department has not released his name or charges.

The arrest is part of the Trump administration’s crackdown on gangs and illegal immigration.

MS-13, a transnational gang linked to brutal crimes, gained national attention after the 2016 murders of two teenage girls on Long Island, the Associated Press has reported.

The administration has vowed to dismantle the gang entirely.
