Six people died, and 39 others were rescued after a tourist submarine sank near Hurghada, Egypt, on Thursday.
The vessel, carrying mostly Russian tourists, crashed about a kilometer from shore during a coral reef excursion.
Among the survivors, 21 were hospitalized, including seven children.
The submarine, operated by Sindbad Submarines, was designed for underwater tours at depths of 25 meters. Authorities are investigating the cause of the incident.
This tragedy follows a similar Red Sea accident in November, highlighting concerns about maritime safety in Egypt’s vital tourism sector.
