The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is investigating Disney’s diversity and inclusion practices, citing concerns that the company may not be complying with government regulations.
FCC Chairman Brendan Carr sent a letter to Disney, prompting the review of its DEI initiatives, including whether they violated equal employment opportunity laws.
The investigation comes amid broader scrutiny of diversity programs under the Trump administration, which has targeted DEI efforts across U.S. companies.
Disney, which recently adjusted its DEI policies, has pledged to cooperate with the FCC’s inquiry, the BBC has reported.
The company has faced political backlash before, particularly from conservatives critical of its “woke” messaging.
