Investigation of ranch in northern Mexico reveals some details of Jalisco cartel’s operations

A renewed investigation into a Jalisco cartel training ranch in Mexico has revealed insights into its operations and recruitment tactics.

The cartel, led by Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, has grown into a violent force, using voluntary, targeted, and forced recruitment, often luring victims with fake job offers.

It operates under a strict hierarchy and has expanded rapidly, surpassing the Sinaloa cartel in some regions.

Its rise is linked to extreme violence, alliances with other groups, and fentanyl profits, the Associated Press has reported.

Authorities recently arrested three police officers tied to disappearances at the ranch, highlighting the cartel’s deep ties to local officials.
