Bull rider dies after injury in Texas rodeo event

A 24-year-old bull rider, Dylan Grant, tragically died from injuries sustained during the Wharton County Youth Fair Xtreme Bulls event in Texas.

After being bucked off by a bull, he was rushed to a hospital in Houston, where he later passed away.

Grant, a Laramie, Wyoming native and University of Wyoming rodeo team member, was remembered fondly by friends, family, and the rodeo community.

He graduated in 2023 with a degree in Physical Education Teacher Education.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association expressed condolences, noting Grant’s positive impact in the sport, the BBC has reported.

Rodeo athletes face high injury risks, with bull riding being particularly dangerous.
