British court documents released Friday reveal Prince Andrew’s past ties to Yang Tengbo, an alleged Chinese spy banned from the UK over national security concerns.
Yang co-founded Pitch@Palace China and acted on Andrew’s behalf in business dealings.
A former aide, Dominique Hampshire, confirmed Yang helped draft letters to Chinese President Xi Jinping and discuss investment plans.
Though Yang denies wrongdoing, MI5 advised his exclusion.
Hampshire stated the royal household, including the late queen, was aware of the communications, and Prince Andrew has since ended contact, CNN has reported.
The revelations come amid efforts to redefine Andrew’s role after the Epstein scandal.
