Boca Raton small plane crash kills 3 and injures 1, authorities say

Three people died and one was injured after a small Cessna 310 plane crashed onto the Tri-Rail tracks near I-95 in Boca Raton on Friday morning.

The plane had just taken off from Boca Raton Airport en route to Tallahassee.

The injured person may have driven through the resulting fireball but suffered only non-life-threatening injuries.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the crash.

Boca Raton’s mayor expressed condolences and praised first responders.

The crash led to major road closures and suspended rail service, affecting Tri-Rail and Amtrak routes in the area, CBS News has reported.

A bus bridge is operating between Deerfield Beach and Boca Raton stations for commuters.
