Senate confirms ‘Razin’ Caine to lead Joint Chiefs

The Senate confirmed retired Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine as the new chair of the Joint Chiefs early Friday in a 60-25 vote, just weeks after President Trump fired Gen. C.Q. Brown.

Caine, who retired last year, becomes the first chair without four-star rank, prompting the Senate to return him to active duty and promote him.

His confirmation faced Democratic opposition over the firings of top military leaders, including Brown and Adm. Lisa Franchetti.

Despite controversy, Caine assured lawmakers he would stay apolitical and dismissed claims he wore a MAGA hat in 2018, Politico has reported.

He brings experience from the Pentagon, CIA, and special operations.
