The U.S. and Iran are set to begin high-stakes talks in Oman on Saturday, aiming to reach a new nuclear deal amid rising tensions.
President Trump has warned of possible military action if a deal isn’t made, while Iran has cautioned that any attack would trigger a wider Middle East conflict.
Although the talks will be indirect, they mark the most significant engagement in years, CNN has reported.
Trump seeks a stronger deal than the 2015 JCPOA, aiming to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, while Iran has set firm red lines and refuses to negotiate under pressure.
