Helicopter company in deadly Hudson River crash shuts down operations

New York Helicopter Tours is shutting down immediately after a deadly crash that killed six people, including three children, when a tourist helicopter plunged into the Hudson River on April 11.

The victims included a visiting family from Spain and the 36-year-old pilot.

The FAA is launching a review of the company’s license and safety record and will host a helicopter safety panel on April 22.

The helicopter lost key rotor parts before crashing into the river near Lower Manhattan, ABC News has reported.

The NTSB is investigating.
