Wisconsin teen allegedly killed parents in extremist plot to assassinate Trump, FBI says

A 17-year-old Wisconsin teen, Nikita Casap, is accused of killing his parents as part of a plot to assassinate former President Donald Trump and overthrow the U.S. government, according to federal authorities.

Arrested in March, Casap faces state charges including two counts of first-degree murder and hiding a corpse, as well as theft and ID fraud.

Federal investigators are also pursuing charges of conspiracy, attempted presidential assassination, and use of weapons of mass destruction.

Authorities say Casap was influenced by neo-Nazi ideologies and had communications with others about his plans.

He allegedly purchased a drone and explosives for an attack, ABC News has reported.

Casap remains in custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for May 7.
