A shooting near the Student Union at Florida State University on Thursday left two people dead and six injured.
The suspect, 20-year-old FSU student Phoenix Ikner, was shot by police and hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ikner is the son of a Leon County sheriff’s deputy and had access to her personal firearm, one of the weapons used.
Authorities said he had both a handgun and shotgun, ABC News has reported.
The victims killed were not students. The campus was secured, and classes were canceled through Friday.
