Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has been indicted on federal charges, including murder with a firearm and stalking.
The indictment makes him eligible for the death penalty, which Attorney General Pam Bondi has directed prosecutors to pursue.
Thompson, 50, was shot outside a Manhattan hotel on Dec. 4, 2024, CBS News has reported.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges in both New York and Pennsylvania.
