Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reiterated on Saturday that Israel must continue its fight in Gaza until Hamas is destroyed, hostages are freed, and the region no longer poses a threat.
Despite pressure from families of hostages, reservists, and retired soldiers, Netanyahu insisted Israel has no choice but to press on after Hamas rejected Israel’s offer for a temporary truce in exchange for half of the hostages’ release.
Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes have killed over 90 people in 48 hours, including women and children, while Israel intensifies attacks to pressure Hamas into releasing hostages and disarming, the Associated Press has reported.
The war has caused significant destruction in Gaza, with over 51,000 Palestinians killed, mostly women and children, and the region facing widespread displacement and food shortages.
