Pakistan suspends visas for Indians after deadly Kashmir attack on tourists

Tensions between India and Pakistan have sharply escalated after a militant attack in Indian-administered Kashmir killed 26 tourists.

India blamed the Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba and identified three suspects, two of them Pakistani. Pakistan denied involvement and criticized India’s lack of evidence.

In response to the accusations and diplomatic actions by India—including border closures and visa suspensions—Pakistan expelled Indian diplomats, suspended trade, and closed its airspace to Indian flights, the BBC has reported.

The fallout has led to the harassment of Kashmiri students in India and heightened regional instability.
