Kangaroo causes collision, stops traffic on Alabama highway

A kangaroo caused a two-vehicle crash and briefly shut down Interstate 85 in Macon County, Alabama, on Tuesday after hopping along the highway.

No injuries were reported, and the kangaroo—belonging to a nearby petting zoo—was safely tranquilized and captured.

Authorities, including state troopers and the sheriff’s office, responded to the unusual incident, which was livestreamed by Sheriff André Brunson, NBC News has reported.

The road has since reopened, and the kangaroo was unharmed.
