Supreme Court seems likely to rule narrowly for family whose house was wrongly raided by FBI

The Supreme Court appeared likely to narrowly side with a family seeking to sue the FBI over a mistaken 2017 raid on their Atlanta home.

Justices seemed open to allowing further litigation while avoiding a broad ruling on federal law enforcement liability.

The case stems from agents breaking into Trina Martin’s home due to a GPS error, terrifying her and her young son.

While some justices acknowledged certain protections for law enforcement, they criticized the government’s stance that no policy was violated, the Associated Press has reported.

A final decision is expected by June.
