Brazilian authorities foiled a plot to attack Lady Gaga’s record-breaking concert in Rio de Janeiro, where 2.5 million people gathered on Copacabana Beach.
Luis da Silva, 44, who had recently been deported from the U.S., allegedly planned to livestream the attack and detonate explosives near the stage while performing a satanic ritual.
He was arrested on illegal gun charges but later released on bail.
Authorities say the plot involved radicalizing teens and spreading hate online, and terrorism charges are expected, Newsweek has reported.
A related operation also led to the arrest of a teenager on child pornography charges.
