Another Fighter Jet Tumbles from Truman Carrier Deck into Red Sea

The USS Harry S. Truman has lost a third F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet during its current Middle East deployment, this time after a failed landing caused by arresting gear malfunction.

Both aviators ejected safely and sustained minor injuries.

The incident follows a previous jet loss just over a week ago during towing operations, and another friendly fire downing in December.

The carrier also collided with a merchant ship in February.

Separately, Houthi rebels fired at the carrier Tuesday, despite ceasefire claims, Military.com has reported.

The cause of the latest jet loss remains under investigation.
