LA men allegedly ‘hunted’ casino winners, robbed them at gunpoint

Two South Gate men, Juan Gabriel Gonzalez, 22, and Dereck Nathan Lopez, 21, are facing federal charges for allegedly stalking and robbing over a dozen casino winners at gunpoint on highways.

Prosecutors say the pair used fake names in casinos to target big winners, then followed and ambushed them, stealing cash or chips in at least 15 incidents.

One victim lost $21,000; another lost $130,000. Lopez, a convicted felon, also faces weapons charges, KTLA 5 has reported.

If convicted, both men could face life in prison.
