German woman arrested after 18 injured in Hamburg knife attack, authorities say

Video footage shows forensic teams inspecting the scene of a stabbing attack at Hamburg’s busy Central Station, with police present.

German officials, including Friedrich Merz and Alexander Dobrindt, expressed sympathy for the victims and praised emergency responders.

The attack comes amid rising knife crime in Germany, some linked to migration.

Notable incidents include an Afghan man’s deadly attack in Aschaffenburg in January and a Syrian man’s confession to killing three in Solingen last year.
