Massive cargo ship runs aground just feet from Norwegian man’s home

A Norwegian man woke to find a cargo ship, the NCL Salten, had run aground just feet from his home along Trondheim Fjord.

Johan Helberg said he slept through the incident and only learned of it when a neighbor rang his doorbell.

The 440-foot vessel caused minor damage to Helberg’s heating pump wire, but no injuries or oil spills were reported, the Oregonian as reported.

Authorities are investigating, with one suspect mentioned by police. Efforts to refloat the ship at high tide on Thursday failed.
