Rhonda Paulynice, a 31-year-old Florida mother, has been arrested for the alleged murder of her 6-year-old son, Ra’myl Pierre.

His body was found wrapped in cloth in her home after he had been missing from school for two weeks.

Paulynice told investigators she believed God instructed her to “exorcise demons” from her son and admitted to suffocating him during the act.

She claimed the child had been possessed and said she was not in control of her body.

Authorities say she appeared emotionally detached and failed to report the death, the U.S. Sun has reported.

The case remains under investigation, pending toxicology results.
