Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has announced she is leaving the Democratic Party and will release a book in October titled Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines.

Jean-Pierre said she made the decision after stepping down in January, believing the country needs to move beyond party labels to face future challenges.

Her announcement follows the release of a controversial book detailing President Biden’s decline during his presidency, Mediaite has reported.
